Professional Biography of Dr. Tomera

The following is a summary of the professional interests and activities which have developed my skills as a urologist and urologic surgeon.

I graduated cum laude from Northwestern University Honors Program in medical education with an MD at age 21. I completed my general surgery at Northwestern University and urology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic. After private practice, I accepted the opportunity to start the urology program at Mayo-Jacksonville and became an assistant professor of urology at the Mayo Clinic. My 33 years of experience has been varied and full. I have been an active clinician, surgeon, researcher and contributor in urology with multiple publications including the prestigious Journal of American Medicine (JAMA). I have received awards as a urologist and in 2007, recognition by Men's Health magazine as one of the country's Top Twenty Urologists.

Currently, I engage in a varied practice including cancer, stone disease, prostate problems, female urology, and general urology. I feel fortunate to have an evolving and fulfilling urology practice, and want to thank you for the opportunity to participate in your care.

Sincerely,
Dr. Tomera
